Mark began his musical journey at 10 years old, singing in school choirs. Quickly finding a love for music, he began learning various instruments before eventually becoming a guitarist. He is a recent graduate of the University of North Texas, where his studies touched on a wide array of musical topics, including various styles of guitar playing, as well as non-performance areas such as music composition and history. While at the University, he studied under accomplished musicians such as Bokyung Byun, Thomas Johnson, Joseph Klein, and many more.

Outside of the University, Mark has performed with and arranges for Dallas-based RnB/Hip-Hop/Funk brass band Opulence where he puts to use jazz and pop sensibilities to create lively tunes. He also performs and tours with local heavy metal band Godot. 

Mark’s approach to teaching is firmly rooted in establishing strong fundamentals in order to approach all manners of guitar playing, from classical to electric, confidently. Using his variety of experiences and pools of knowledge, he hopes to assist students along their journey to appreciating all that music has to offer!
