  • DARINA GILMKHANOVA

Ms. Gilmkhanova, a native of Kazan, started playing the piano and even composing her own music at just 4 years old. She graduated from a special music school with an honours degree. During her studies, she won numerous compositional and improvisational competitions.
After moving to Moscow, she studied for one year at the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor Yuri Bogdanov), and in 2019 she graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (under Professor Alexei Nasedkin, with Associate Professor Denis Chefanov).

Darina is a laureate of the International Competition “Fermata” (for Chamber Ensemble and Piano solo), the 1st Alfred Schnittke International Performing Music Competition (Chamber Ensemble), 17th International Maria Yudina Competition, the International art competition “Art session”, the 5th International Alexey Nasedkin Competition and so on and so forth.
Darina took part in the masterclasses: “Accademia di Musica”, Pinerolo, Italy (Roberto Plano), “River of Talents”, St. Petersburg, Russia (Vladimir Mishchuk), the 3rd International Academy of Music, Sochi (Dmitry Bashkirov), and the Academy of Music, Moscow (Rafael Salinas). Furthermore, she soloed with the Yaroslavl Philharmonic Orchestra and took part in the “Singing Russia” Easter Festival of Valery Gergiev.

Currently she is studying at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (Professor Herbut Tomasz’s class) in the MA Music Performance Classic degree program. She has been working with students for 7 years. Ms. Gilmkhanova is convinced that the primary function of a teacher is to fuel a student’s interest in music, and it’s very important to make lessons fascinating rather than boring. Regardless of whether a student is already committed to music, or he just wants to know something new, a teacher should be able to see their student’s strengths and develop said student’s potential.

Ms. Gilmkhanova is a piano teacher with Inplay School of Music.
